Varuna is more than a place to sail. Between races and regattas, the club is a place to slow down, learn something new and spend time with friends and family by the water. Our social programme brings members together off the water, from the kitchen to the yoga mat.

Many of you already know Sasi, and her husband Toby, as cherished members of the Varuna family. A mum of two whose company everyone enjoys, Sasi also runs Sasi's Lovemade Kitchen, a small, family-run business sharing her love of Thai food.
Her private, hands-on Thai cooking classes take place in her beautiful Thai-style home beside Phoenix Golf Course in Huay Yai, just outside Pattaya. It is a half-day experience: explore her herb garden, crack a coconut and make fresh coconut milk by hand, then cook three dishes of your choice with Sasi's personal guidance before sitting down together to enjoy the lunch you have made. Classes suit single foodies through to groups, and dishes can be made with shrimp, pork or beef, or vegetarian or vegan.
Rooted in her farm upbringing, Sasi cooks with real ingredients, traditional know-how and a lot of love. She also makes small-batch homemade granola and energy balls, naturally sweetened with dates and full of wholesome seeds and nuts.

Khun Anne, another mum in the Varuna family, is bringing her yoga and sound bath sessions to the club. Gentle, mindful yoga flows into a sound bath, as you settle on your mat and let the deep hum of the gong and the soft ring of singing bowls wash over you.
A warm, calming way to stretch, breathe and reset, open to all levels, and a lovely counterpoint to a day on the water.
We are building a wider programme of social activities. Ideas and enquiries are always welcome — please contact the General Manager at generalmanager@varuna.org.
