A self-governing subcommittee under the oversight of the RVYC General Committee, bridging junior and adult sailing.

Varuna Youth was established to operate as a self-governing subcommittee under the oversight of the RVYC General Committee. It aims to bridge the gap between junior and adult sailing through high-performance technical mentorship, leadership development and club service.
Like many sailing clubs, Royal Varuna has historically seen participation drop when sailors reach eighteen, with no clear role beyond the junior fleets. Varuna Youth provides a structured platform built on leadership, technical mentorship, global networking and brand ambassadorship, to encourage lifelong involvement.

Support junior sailors through structured coaching, clinics and Pro-Am regattas.
Involve young members in race management, club operations and subcommittee governance.
Manage targeted social media channels to showcase RVYC activities, expand global followers and build formal ties with overseas sailing clubs and universities.
Organise off-water social events that bridge generations within the club.
